Lunch at Sungai Pelek

I have now been back in my “kampung” (village)  Sungai Pelek for about 6 days and it has been a real struggle to get new articles written.

Sungai Pelek is a smallish town about 20 minutes south of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

I was born in this village, My father was born not far from this village. And I think my mum was also born in this village (hmmm… maybe one of my relatives reading this will write something in the comments section below and tell me *hint* *hint*)

Being back here in SP (as my siblings and I tend to refer to Sungai Pelek) does make me somewhat lazy partly because for me, it is just eat, eat, eat and eat.

For example, it is now about 11.30a.m. and it’s time to go and have some Melayu-style food. I found this fellow and his wife all by accident and their food is yum.

So, I’ll write some more when I get back.

And yes, I’ll post pics 🙂

Later …..

eat

Un-dignified feeding :P)

Back!!!

Mohd Rozi's location

Mohd Rozi’s food stall across the road from the Public Bank.

Well, the place is slightly set off the main street of Sungai Pelek and can be a bit hard to find.

It is directly across the road from the Public Bank where Tanjung Satay is found.

I have known of Mohd Rozi’s cuisine for a little while and I have to admit I find it quite nice and the price is good. His range is quite broad and he changes his product offerings often. I presume it depends on seasonal factors and availability. For example, I quite like his curried cockles but there was none today 🙁

The range

A range of good yummy traditional Melayu food

I didn’t want to be rude by taking too many pics and making Mohd Rozi too uncomfortable.

I think he was being blown away with the attention he was getting from me.

I picked what I wanted, order a cuppa tea and dug in before I realised that I had committed the usual sin – I forgot to take a pic 🙁yummy

So here is what I picked.
